حبِ رسول ﷺ
حضرت عبداللہ بن ہشام رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے، فرماتے ہیں کہ ہم نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے ساتھ تھے اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حضرت عمر بن خطاب رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ کا ہاتھ پکڑا ہوا تھا، حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا کہ یا رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم! آپ مجھے اپنی جان کے سوا ہر چیز سے زیادہ محبوب ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا کہ نہیں، اس ذات کی قسم جس کے ہاتھ میں میری جان ہے، جب تک میں تمہاری اپنی جان سے بھی زیادہ محبوب نہ ہو جاؤں (تم مومن نہیں ہو سکتے)۔ حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ نے عرض کیا کہ اب اللہ کی قسم! اب آپ مجھے میری جان سے بھی زیادہ محبوب ہیں۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: "اب اے عمر! (تم مومن ہو)۔" (بخاری)
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی محبت دل کا جزوِ لازم اور ایمان کی بنیاد ہے، ہر شخص کے دل میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی محبت اپنی جان، مال، اولاد اور دنیا کی سب چیزوں سے بڑھ کر ہونی چاہیے، جس کا یہ درجہ نہ ہو اس کا ایمان کامل نہیں، جیسا کہ اس حدیثِ مبارکہ سے واضح ہے۔
قرآن و سنت کی رو سے یہ محبت ضروری ہے، اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی محبت کے ساتھ اپنی جان، مال و دولت اور اولاد کی محبت کو ہر حال میں اس کے تابع رکھنا چاہیے، اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی محبت اور آپ کی اطاعت کو ہر چیز پر مقدم رکھنا چاہیے۔
اللہ تعالیٰ نے ارشاد فرمایا ہے:
"نبی مومنوں کے ساتھ ان کی اپنی جانوں سے بھی زیادہ اولیٰ (قریب) ہیں۔" (الاحزاب – ۶)
اور ایک جگہ نبی کریم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی عالمگیر رسالت اور نوعِ انسان کے لیے آپ کے بشیر و نذیر بنا کر بھیجے جانے کا ذکر ان الفاظ میں فرمایا:
"اور ہم نے آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کو تمام نبی نوعِ انسان کے لیے بشیر اور نذیر بنا کر بھیجا ہے۔" (سبا – ۲۸)
اور آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی اطاعت کو اپنی ہی اطاعت قرار دیا:
"جس نے رسول کی اطاعت کی اس نے اللہ ہی کی اطاعت کی۔" (النساء – ۸۰)
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے محبت کا تقاضا یہ ہے کہ آپ کی اطاعت و فرمانبرداری کی جائے، اور آپ کے دیے ہوئے ہر حکم کو دل و جان سے قبول کیا جائے، جیسا کہ اللہ تعالیٰ نے فرمایا:
"جو کچھ رسول تمہیں دیں وہ لے لو، اور جس سے منع کریں اس سے رک جاؤ۔" (الحشر – ۷)
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے محبت کا اصل ثبوت یہ ہے کہ آپ کی سنت پر عمل کیا جائے، آپ کے احکام کی فرمانبرداری کی جائے، اور آپ کی سیرتِ طیبہ کو اپنی زندگی کے لیے نمونہ بنایا جائے، صرف زبانی محبت کا دعویٰ کافی نہیں، بلکہ عملی طور پر آپ کی اطاعت و اتباع ہی محبت کی سچی دلیل ہے۔
اللہ تعالیٰ ہم سب کو رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی ایسی محبت نصیب فرمائے جو آپ کو پسند ہے۔ آمین یا ربّ العالمین!

English translation
'Abdullah ibn Hisham (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated: We were with the Prophet ﷺ while he was holding the hand of 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). 'Umar said, "O Messenger of Allah, you are dearer to me than everything except my own self." The Prophet ﷺ said: "No — by Him in whose hand is my soul, (you cannot be a believer) until I am dearer to you than even your own self." 'Umar then said, "Now, by Allah, you are dearer to me than even my own self." The Prophet ﷺ said: "Now, O 'Umar (you are a believer)." (Bukhari)
Love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is an inseparable part of the heart and a foundation of faith. In every person's heart, love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ should surpass love for one's own life, wealth, children and everything of this world; whoever does not have it to this degree, his faith is not complete, as is made clear by this noble hadith. By the Qur'an and the Sunnah this love is obligatory, and along with love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, love for one's own life, wealth and children must in every case be kept subordinate to it, and the love and obedience of the Prophet ﷺ must be given precedence over everything. Allah has said: "The Prophet is closer (has a greater claim over) the believers than their own selves." (al-Ahzab 33:6) In another place, the universal messengership of the Prophet ﷺ and his being sent to all humankind as a bearer of glad tidings and a warner is mentioned in these words: "And We have not sent you except as a bearer of good news and a warner to all mankind." (Saba' 34:28) And his obedience is declared to be obedience to Allah Himself: "Whoever obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah." (al-Nisa' 4:80) The requirement of love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is that he be obeyed and followed and that every command he has given be accepted with heart and soul, as Allah has said: "Whatever the Messenger gives you, take it; and whatever he forbids you, refrain from it." (al-Hashr 59:7) The true proof of love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is that his Sunnah be acted upon, his commands obeyed, and his blessed way of life taken as a model for one's own life; a mere verbal claim of love is not enough — rather, obeying and following him in practice is the true proof of love. May Allah grant us all such love for the Messenger of Allah ﷺ as is pleasing to Him. Amin, O Lord of the worlds!
