ختم نبوت اور جھوٹے دعوے دار
حضرت ثوبان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ: ”میری امت میں تیس کذاب ہوں گے ان میں سے ہر ایک اپنے نبی ہونے کا دعویٰ کرے گا، حالانکہ میں خاتم النبیین ہوں، میرے بعد کوئی نبی نہیں۔“ (مسلم)
اس حدیث مبارکہ میں آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے تیس بڑے مکاروں اور جھوٹوں کا ذکر فرمایا ہے، حضور صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے امت کو آگاہ فرما دیا کہ نبوت آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ختم ہے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بعد نبوت کا جو بھی دعویٰ دار ہوگا وہ جھوٹا ہوگا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی یہ پیش گوئی حرف بحرف صحیح ثابت ہوئی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے بعد اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے کوئی نبی نہیں آیا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی پیش گوئی کے مطابق نبوت کے جھوٹے دعوے دار ضرور اٹھے مگر وہ اپنے فریب و مکر کو چھپانے میں کامیاب نہ ہو سکے، ان کا دھوکہ اور فریب کھل کر رہا، ان کے اندر نبوت کی کوئی شان نہیں پائی گئی البتہ وہ جھوٹے، مکار اور دھوکے باز ثابت ہوئے اور دین اسلام سے متفقہ طور پر خارج ہو گئے، کیونکہ جس طرح رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ایمان لانا ضروری ہے اتنا ہی آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے خاتم النبیین ہونے پر ایمان لانا بھی ضروری ہے۔
جہاں کا سردار آ گیا اب کوئی رسول یا نبی نہیں آئے گا، دنیا اسی کے زیرِ رسالت و سیادت ختم ہو جائے گی، عالم کی آبادی کا دارومدار اس کی ہدایت پر ہے اور کارخانہ ہدایت تمام کا تمام رسولوں کی ذات سے وابستہ ہے، اس لیے عالم کی ابتدا و انتہا میں بڑا ہی گہرا ربط ہے، پروردگار عالم نے جب ایک عالم کی بنیاد رکھی تو اسی کے ساتھ دوسری طرف قصرِ نبوت کی پہلی اینٹ بھی رکھ دی یعنی عالم میں جس کو اپنا خلیفہ بنایا تھا اسی کو قصرِ نبوت کی پہلی اینٹ قرار دے دیا، ادھر عالم بتدریج پھیلتا رہا ادھر قصرِ نبوت کی تعمیر ہوتی رہی، آخرکار عالم کے لیے جس عروج پر پہنچنا مقدر تھا پہنچ گیا اور ادھر قصرِ نبوت بھی اپنے محاسن اور خوبیوں کے ساتھ مکمل ہوگیا اور اس لیے ضروری ہوا کہ جس طرح عالم کی ابتدا میں رسولوں کی بعثت کی اطلاع دی گئی تھی اس کی انتہاء پر رسولوں کے خاتمے کا بھی اعلان کر دیا جائے تا کہ قدیم سنت کے مطابق آئندہ اب کوئی شخص رسول کی آمد کا انتظار نہ کرے۔
”اے آدم کی اولاد (دیکھو) تمہارے پاس تم میں سے ہی رسول آئیں گے جو میری آیتیں تمہیں پڑھ پڑھ کر سنائیں گے، جس نے تقویٰ کی راہ اختیار کی اور نیک رہا تو اس پر نہ گزشتہ کا خوف نہ آئندہ کا غم۔“ (القرآن)
اس اعلان کے مطابق اللہ تعالیٰ کی زمین پر بہت سے رسول آئے مگر کسی نے یہ دعویٰ نہیں کیا کہ وہ خاتم النبیین ہے، بلکہ ہر رسول نے اپنے بعد دوسرا رسول آنے کی بشارت سنائی حتیٰ کہ وہ زمانہ آ گیا جبکہ اسرائیلی سلسلہ کے آخری رسول نے اسماعیلی سلسلہ کے اس رسول کی بشارت دے دی جس کا اسم مبارک احمد تھا۔
عالم کے اس منتظر اور حضرت عیسیٰ علیہ السلام کے اس مبشر رسول نے دنیا میں آ کر ایک نیا اعلان کیا اور وہ یہ تھا کہ میں اب آخری رسول ہوں، خود عالم کا زمانہ بھی آخر ہے اور ہاتھ کی دو انگلیوں کی طرف اشارہ کر کے فرمایا کہ میں اور قیامت اسی طرح قریب قریب ہیں، عالم اپنے پورے عروج کو پہنچ چکا ہے، قصرِ نبوت میں ایک ہی اینٹ کی کسر باقی تھی وہ میری آمد سے پوری ہوگئی ہے دونوں تعمیریں مکمل ہو گئیں ہیں۔
یعنی اب تک جتنے رسول آئے وہ صرف رسول اللہ تھے، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رسول اللہ ہونے کے علاوہ خاتم النبیین بھی ہیں اس بناء پر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے تصور کے لیے دو باتوں کا تصور اور ایمان ضروری ہے، یہ کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم رسول اللہ ہیں اور یہ کہ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم خاتم النبیین بھی ہیں، اور اس عقیدے اور اس تصور کا انکاری کافر ہے۔

English translation
Thawban (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that the Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “In my community there will be thirty great liars, each of whom will claim to be a prophet; whereas I am the Seal of the Prophets — there is no prophet after me.” (Muslim)
In this hadith the Prophet mentioned thirty great deceivers and liars. He warned the community that prophethood ends with him: whoever claims prophethood after him will be a liar. This prediction of his proved true to the letter — after him no prophet came from Allah. As he foretold, false claimants to prophethood did indeed arise, but they could not conceal their deceit and trickery; their fraud and deception were exposed. No trace of the dignity of prophethood was found in them; rather they proved to be liars, impostors, and deceivers, and were unanimously declared outside the religion of Islam — for just as it is necessary to believe in the Messenger of Allah, it is equally necessary to believe in his being the Seal of the Prophets.
The master of the world has come; now no messenger or prophet will come, and the world will run its course under his messengership and leadership. The welfare of the world's inhabitants depends upon his guidance, and the whole workshop of guidance is bound to the persons of the messengers; hence there is a very deep connection between the beginning and the end of the world. When the Lord of the worlds laid the foundation of the world, He also, on the other side, laid the first brick of the edifice of prophethood — that is, the one He made His vicegerent in the world He also made the first brick of the edifice of prophethood. As the world gradually expanded, the edifice of prophethood was being built; finally the world reached the peak destined for it, and the edifice of prophethood too was completed with all its excellences and merits. So it became necessary that, just as the sending of messengers had been announced at the beginning of the world, the ending of messengers should also be announced at its culmination, so that — in keeping with ancient practice — no one thereafter would await the coming of a messenger.
“O children of Adam! (behold) there will come to you messengers from among yourselves, reciting My verses to you; whoever adopts the path of piety and does good, upon him there will be no fear of the past nor grief for the future.” (Qur'an)
In accordance with this announcement, many messengers came upon Allah's earth, but none of them claimed to be the Seal of the Prophets; rather every messenger gave the glad tidings of another messenger to come after him — until the time came when the last messenger of the Israelite line gave the glad tidings of this messenger of the Ishmaelite line whose blessed name was Ahmad.
This awaited one of the world and this messenger foretold by Jesus (peace be upon him) came into the world and made a new announcement: that he was now the final messenger, that the age of the world itself was drawing to a close; and pointing to the two fingers of his hand he said that he and the Hour were as close as these two. The world had reached its full peak; only one brick of the edifice of prophethood was wanting, and that has been filled by his coming — both structures are now complete.
That is, all the messengers who came until then were only Messengers of Allah; the Prophet, besides being the Messenger of Allah, is also the Seal of the Prophets. On this basis, faith in his person requires the conception of and belief in two things: that he is the Messenger of Allah, and that he is also the Seal of the Prophets — and whoever denies this creed and this belief is a disbeliever.
