حفظ قرآن کی فضیلت
حضرت معاذ جہنی رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: ''جو شخص قرآن پڑھے اور جو کچھ اس میں مذکور ہے اس پر عمل کرے تو قیامت کے دن اس کے ماں باپ کو تاج پہنایا جائے گا، جس کی روشنی دنیا کے گھروں میں چمکنے والے آفتاب (سورج) کی روشنی سے اعلیٰ ہوگی، اگر (بفرض محال) تمہارے گھروں میں آفتاب ہو، اب تم خود اس شخص کا مرتبہ سمجھ سکتے ہو جس نے قرآن پر عمل کیا ہو۔'' (ابو داؤد و مسند احمد)
قرآن مجید کی تلاوت اور اس کو پڑھنے کا ثواب محتاج بیان نہیں، تمام لوگ اس پر متفق ہیں کہ کوئی ذکر، تلاوتِ کلام مجید سے زیادہ ثواب نہیں رکھتا، خصوصاً نماز میں اس کی قرأت کا ثواب اور اس کی فضیلت اتنی ہے کہ وہ دائرہ تحریر سے باہر ہے، قرآن کریم کی تلاوت کے وقت اس کے ہر حرف کے عوض دس نیکیاں اور نماز میں اس کی قرأت کے وقت اس کے ہر حرف کے عوض پچیس نیکیاں لکھی جاتی ہیں۔ قرآن کریم کا پڑھنا بندہ کو اللہ تعالیٰ کا قرب بخشتا ہے، قلب کو عرفانِ الٰہی اور ذکرِ اللہ کے نور سے روشن کرتا ہے اور قیامت کے روز اللہ تعالیٰ کی بارگاہ میں شفاعت کرے گا۔
اس حدیث پاک سے یہ واضح طور پر معلوم ہو جاتا ہے کہ قرآن کے پڑھنے اور اس پر عمل کرنے اور اس پر عمل کرنے والے کے والدین کو جب ایسا تاج پہنایا جائے گا جس کی روشنی سورج کی روشنی سے بھی حسین تر ہوگی تو سمجھ لیں کہ خود اس قرآن مجید کو اپنے سینے میں محفوظ رکھنے والے اور اس پر عمل کرنے والے کو اللہ تعالیٰ کی طرف سے کیا کیا عطا کیا جائے گا۔
ایک روایت میں اس طرح آتا ہے کہ جب کسی نے قرآن مجید پڑھا اور سیکھا اور اس پر عمل کیا تو (اس کو جو کچھ اجر و ثواب ملے گا اس کا ذکر نہیں بلکہ) اس کے والدین کو قیامت کے دن نور کا ایک تاج پہنایا جائے گا جس کی چمک سورج کی روشنی کی طرح ہوگی اور اس کے والدین کو دو جوڑے ایسے پہنائے جائیں گے کہ پوری دنیا بھی ان کی قیمت نہیں بن سکتی، وہ پوچھیں گے کہ یہ ہمیں کس چیز کے بدلے پہنائے جا رہے ہیں (ہمارا تو کوئی عمل ایسا اونچا نہ تھا) تو انہیں بتایا جائے گا کہ یہ تمہارے بچے کے قرآن مجید پڑھنے کا انعام ہے۔ (بحوالہ حاکم)
بچے کے عمل میں والدین ہی کی کوشش و تربیت کا دخل ہوتا ہے اس لیے اس شخص نے جو بھی کچھ پڑھا لکھا اور اس پر عمل کیا اس میں اس کے والدین کا بھی حصہ ہے، اس میں بچوں کے والدین کے لیے کس قدر عظیم الشان فضیلت ہے، جو لوگ خود اس فضیلت سے محروم رہ گئے ہیں وہ کم از کم اپنی اولاد کو تو قرآن مجید کی تعلیم دلا ہی سکتے ہیں۔ اس سے اندازہ کیجیے کہ جب اس کے والدین کو یہ مرتبہ ملا ہے تو خود اس کو کیا کچھ بلند مرتبہ حاصل ہوگا جس نے اسے سیکھا اور اس پر عمل کیا۔
قرآن مجید کی ایک ایک آیت سیکھنے سکھانے کا بھی بڑا اجر و ثواب اور فضیلت ہے اس کا اندازہ سرکارِ دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کے اس فرمان سے بخوبی لگایا جا سکتا ہے۔ آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے حضرت ابو ذر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے فرمایا: اے ابو ذر! تم صبح کو جاؤ اور قرآن مجید کی ایک آیت سیکھو تو یہ تمہارے حق میں سو رکعت (نفل) نماز پڑھنے سے بہتر ہے۔ (بحوالہ ابن ماجہ)
لیکن افسوس آج ہم مسلمان اس درجہ غفلت میں مبتلا ہیں کہ ہم اپنی اولادوں کو قرآن مجید کا حافظ بنانا تو دور کی بات قرآن مجید کی تعلیم دلانے میں انتہا درجے کی سستی اور کاہلی برتتے ہیں، اور دنیاوی تعلیم کے لیے اپنے تمام تر وسائل حتیٰ کہ قرض ادھار لینے اور جائز و ناجائز آمدنی تک کی بھی تمیز نہیں کرتے۔ اور انہیں اونچے سے اونچے درجے کے غیر ملکی نصاب والے اسکولوں میں داخلہ دلاتے ہیں تا کہ ہمارا بچہ فرفر انگریزی بول سکے لیکن ہم یہ سوچنا بھی گوارا نہیں کرتے کہ جہاں تعلیم دینے والے لوگ ہی غیر مسلم ہوں وہ ہماری اولاد کو کیا تعلیم اور تربیت دیں گے، اللہ تعالیٰ ہم سب کو علم کے صحیح معنی کو سمجھنے کی اور اپنی اولادوں کو اس پر عمل کرانے کی توفیق عطا فرمائے۔ آمین

English translation
It is narrated from Hazrat Mu'adh al-Juhani (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: "Whoever recites the Qur'an and acts upon what it contains, on the Day of Judgement his parents will be crowned with a crown whose light will be finer than the light of the sun shining in the houses of this world — were the sun (hypothetically) to be in your houses. So now you can judge for yourself the rank of the one who has himself acted upon the Qur'an."
The reward of reciting and reading the Holy Qur'an needs no description; all agree that no remembrance carries more reward than the recitation of the Glorious Word, and especially in prayer the reward and virtue of its recitation is so great that it is beyond what can be written. When reciting the Holy Qur'an ten good deeds are recorded for each of its letters, and in prayer twenty-five good deeds for each letter. Reciting the Holy Qur'an brings a servant nearer to Allah, illuminates the heart with the light of divine knowledge and the remembrance of Allah, and it will intercede in the court of Allah on the Day of Judgement.
From this blessed hadith it becomes clearly evident that if such a crown — more beautiful even than the light of the sun — will be placed on the parents of the one who reads the Qur'an and acts upon it, then imagine what Allah will bestow upon the one who himself preserves this Qur'an in his breast and acts upon it.
In one narration it comes that when someone reads and learns the Holy Qur'an and acts upon it, then (leaving aside the reward he himself receives) his parents will be crowned on the Day of Judgement with a crown of light whose radiance will be like the light of the sun, and his parents will be clothed with two garments whose worth the whole world could not equal. They will ask: for what have these been given to us? (We did no such lofty deed.) They will be told: this is the reward for your child's reciting of the Holy Qur'an. (Hakim)
A child's deeds owe much to the parents' effort and upbringing; so whatever that person read, wrote and acted upon, his parents too have a share in it. What a magnificent virtue this is for the parents of children! Those who have themselves been deprived of this virtue can at least have their children taught the Holy Qur'an. From this judge that when the parents attain this rank, what a lofty rank the one who learned it and acted upon it must himself attain.
Learning and teaching even a single verse of the Holy Qur'an carries great reward and virtue, as can be well gauged from this saying of the Master of both worlds (peace be upon him). He said to Hazrat Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him): "O Abu Dharr! Go in the morning and learn one verse of the Holy Qur'an — that is better for you than praying a hundred rak'ahs (of voluntary prayer)." (Ibn Majah)
But sadly, today we Muslims are so heedless that — let alone making our children memorisers of the Qur'an — we show the utmost laziness and slackness in even having them taught the Qur'an, while for worldly education we use all our resources, even taking loans on credit and making no distinction between lawful and unlawful income, and we enrol them in schools of ever higher foreign curricula so that our child may speak fluent English; yet we do not even care to consider that where the teachers themselves are non-Muslims, what education and upbringing will they give our children? May Allah grant us all a true understanding of knowledge and enable us to have our children act upon it. Ameen.
