قیامت میں سورہ بقرہ و سورہ آل عمران کی شفاعت و وکالت
حضرت نواس بن سمعان رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ میں نے رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم فرماتے تھے کہ: ''قیامت کے دن قرآن کو اور ان قرآن والوں کو لایا جائے گا جو اس پر عمل کرنے والے تھے، سورہ بقرہ اور سورہ آل عمران (جو قرآن کریم کے شروع کی سورتیں ہیں) وہ پیش پیش ہوں گی۔ (ایسا محسوس ہوگا) گویا کہ وہ بادل کے دو ٹکڑے ہیں، یا سیاہ رنگ کے دو سائبان ہیں جن میں نور کی چمک ہے، یا صف باندھے ہوئے پرندوں کی دو جماعتیں ہیں، اور وہ اپنے پڑھنے والوں کی طرف سے جھگڑیں گی (یعنی اپنے پڑھنے والوں کی وکالت اور سفارش کریں گی)۔'' (مسلم)
قرآن کریم اس دنیا کی سب سے بڑی نعمتِ عظمیٰ ہے، قرآن مجید اس جہاں میں وہ نعمت بے بہا ہے کہ سارا جہاں، آسمان و زمین اور ان میں پیدا ہونے والی مخلوقات اس کا بدل نہیں بن سکتی، انسان کی سب سے بڑی سعادت اور خوش نصیبی یہ ہے کہ وہ اپنا زیادہ سے زیادہ وقت قرآن مجید کو پڑھنے، سمجھنے اور اس پر عمل کرنے پر لگائے، اور سب سے بڑی بدنصیبی یہ ہے کہ اس سے اعراض کرے اور اسے چھوڑ دے، اس لیے ہر مسلمان کو اس کی فکر فرضِ عین اور ضروری ہے کہ قرآن کریم کو صحتِ لفظی کے ساتھ پڑھنے اور اپنی اولاد کو پڑھانے کی کوشش کرے، اور پھر جس قدر ممکن ہو سکے اس کے معنی اور احکام کو سمجھنے اور ان پر عمل کرنے کی فکر میں لگا رہے، اور اس کو اپنی پوری عمر کا وظیفہ بنائے اور اپنے حوصلے اور ہمت کے مطابق اس کا جو حصہ بھی نصیب ہو جائے اس کو اس جہاں کی سب سے بڑی نعمت سمجھے۔
اس حدیث مبارک میں قرآن مجید کی فضیلت کے ساتھ ساتھ سورہ بقرہ اور سورہ آل عمران کی فضیلت بیان کی گئی ہے، ذرا تصور کریں قیامت اور میدانِ حشر کی ہولناکی کا، کیسے خوش نصیب ہوں گے وہ بندے اللہ کے جو قرآن پاک سے خاص تعلق اور اس کے احکام کی فرمانبرداری سے حشر کے اس پرہول میدان میں اس شان سے آئیں گے کہ اللہ کا کلام پاک ان کا شفیع و وکیل بن کر ان کے ساتھ ہوگا، اور اس کی شروع کی اور اہم نورانی سورتیں سورہ بقرہ و آل عمران اپنے انوار کے ساتھ ان کے سروں پر سایہ فگن ہوں گی، اس حدیث کی اطلاع کے بعد بھی جو بندے اس سعادت کے حاصل کرنے میں کوتاہی کریں بلاشبہ وہ بڑے محروم ہیں۔
لیکن آج ہم لوگوں نے کلامِ پاک کو محض خوشی کے موقع پر برکاتِ الٰہی کے حصول اور غم و پریشانی کے موقع پر کلیدِ کامیابی اور رحمتِ ایزدی کے حصول کا ذریعہ بنا لیا ہے، کہیں اس کتابِ مقدس کو جھولے میں رکھ کر جھلایا جاتا ہے، کہیں جائداد کے بٹوارے کے ڈر سے قرآن کریم سے لڑکیوں کی نعوذ باللہ شادی کردی جاتی ہے، کہیں قرآن کو جھوٹی سچی قسموں کے لیے اٹھایا جاتا ہے اور شادی کے وقت دلہن کے سر پر اٹھا لیتے ہیں اور کہیں قرآن کی ہوا بیماروں کو دی جاتی ہے، غور کیجیے کیا اس کے الفاظ دلوں میں اترتے ہیں جس کے لیے اللہ تعالیٰ نے سورہ حشر میں ارشاد فرمایا۔ ﴿اگر ہم اس قرآن کو کسی پہاڑ پر اتارتے تو تو دیکھتا کہ وہ پست ہوکر ٹکڑے ٹکڑے ہو جاتا خوفِ الٰہی سے، ہم ان مثالوں کو لوگوں کے سامنے بیان کرتے ہیں تا کہ وہ غور و فکر کریں۔﴾ (الحشر ۲۱)
اب دیکھیں غور کرنے والوں نے اس پر کس طرح غور و فکر فرمایا، حضرت عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ جن کے متعلق رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا تھا کہ اگر میرے بعد کوئی نبی آتا تو وہ عمر ہوتا۔ انہوں نے صرف سورہ بقرہ کو مکمل تفسیر کے ساتھ بارہ سال میں ختم کیا۔ امام شافعی کا واقعہ دیکھیں وہ کہتے ہیں کہ ایک مرتبہ میرے ذہن میں خیال آگیا کہ ''اجماع'' کے لیے بھی قرآن میں کوئی سند اور دلیل ہے، تین سو (۳۰۰) مرتبہ میں نے شروع سے آخر تک پڑھا، ۳۰۱ ویں مرتبہ مجھے روشنی ملی وہ آیت جس کا مفہوم یہ ہے۔ ﴿جو کوئی شخص مسلمانوں کے راستے کو چھوڑ کر کوئی اور راستہ اختیار کرے گا ہم اسے اسی کے حوالے کردیں گے اور جہنم میں پہنچا دیں گے۔﴾ (القرآن)
کیا ان تمام باتوں کے باوجود ہم میں جستجو کی اتنی سی بھی رمق پیدا نہیں ہوئی کہ کم از کم پورے قرآن کو صرف ایک مرتبہ ہی سمجھ کر پڑھ لیں، وہ ذاتِ عظیم تو نظر نواز ہے ہمارے لیے، ممکن ہے اس عمل کو ہماری ہدایت کی طرف پہلا قدم مان لے۔

کیا ان تمام باتوں کے باوجود ہم میں جستجو کی اتنی سی بھی رمق پیدا نہیں ہوئی کہ کم از کم پورے قرآن کو صرف ایک مرتبہ ہی سمجھ کر پڑھ لیں، وہ ذاتِ عظیم تو نظر نواز ہے ہمارے لیے، ممکن ہے اس عمل کو ہماری ہدایت کی طرف پہلا قدم مان لے۔
English translation
It is narrated from Nawwas ibn Sam'an (may Allah be pleased with him) that: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: "On the Day of Resurrection the Qur'an and those people of the Qur'an who used to act upon it will be brought forth. Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran (which are among the opening surahs of the Noble Qur'an) will be at the forefront. (It will seem) as though they are two pieces of cloud, or two dark canopies with a radiance of light in them, or two flocks of birds in ranks, and they will plead on behalf of those who used to recite them (that is, they will advocate and intercede for their reciters)." (Muslim)
The Noble Qur'an is the greatest of all the blessings of this world; in this world it is a bounty beyond price, for which the whole universe — the heavens, the earth, and all the creatures within them — could not be an equivalent. Man's greatest good fortune is to devote as much of his time as possible to reciting, understanding, and acting upon the Qur'an, and his greatest misfortune is to turn away from it and abandon it. So it is an individual obligation upon every Muslim to strive to recite the Qur'an with correct pronunciation and to teach it to his children, and then, as far as possible, to keep striving to understand its meanings and rulings and to act upon them, making this the occupation of his whole life, and to regard whatever share of it he attains, according to his resolve and effort, as the greatest blessing of this world.
Along with the excellence of the Noble Qur'an, this blessed hadith mentions the excellence of Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Aal-e-Imran. Imagine for a moment the terror of the Resurrection and the Plain of Gathering: how fortunate will those servants of Allah be who, through their special bond with the Holy Qur'an and their obedience to its commands, will come onto that dreadful plain in such honour that the Holy Word of Allah will be with them as their intercessor and advocate, and its great luminous opening surahs, al-Baqarah and Aal-e-Imran, will cast their light as shade over their heads. Those servants who, even after learning of this hadith, fall short in attaining this good fortune are without doubt greatly deprived.
But today we have reduced the Holy Word to a mere means of obtaining Allah's blessings on happy occasions and a key to success and a means of obtaining divine mercy in times of grief and distress. In one place this Sacred Book is placed in a swing and rocked; in another, out of fear of dividing an inheritance, girls are — we seek refuge in Allah — "married" to the Qur'an; in another the Qur'an is taken up for false and true oaths, or held over the head of the bride at a wedding, or its "breath" is blown over the sick. Reflect: do its words sink into our hearts — the words about which Allah declared in Surah al-Hashr: "Had We sent down this Qur'an upon a mountain, you would have seen it humbled and split into pieces out of the fear of Allah. Such parables We set forth for people that they may reflect." (Al-Hashr 21)
Now see how those who reflect did reflect upon it. Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), of whom the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) had said, "If there were to be a prophet after me, it would be Umar," took twelve years to complete Surah al-Baqarah alone, together with its full commentary. Consider the account of Imam Shafi'i, who said: it once occurred to me, is there any support and proof in the Qur'an for "ijma" (consensus) too? I read the Qur'an from beginning to end three hundred (300) times; on the 301st time light dawned upon me — the verse whose meaning is: "Whoever forsakes the way of the Muslims and follows another path, We shall leave him to it and cast him into Hell." (Qur'an)
Despite all of this, has not even the faintest spark of longing arisen in us to read the whole Qur'an, understanding it, at least once? That Most Great Being is generous towards us; it may be that He will accept this deed as our first step towards guidance.
