اللہ کے لیے محبت کرنا
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ: ”قیامت کے دن اللہ تعالیٰ ارشاد فرمائیں گے کہ کہاں ہیں وہ بندے جو میری عظمت وجلال کی وجہ سے آپس میں الفت و محبت رکھتے تھے؟ آج جب کہ میرے سایے کے سوا کسی کا سایہ نہیں ہے، میں اپنے بندوں کو اپنے سایے میں جگہ دوں گا“۔ (مسلم)
کسی شخص سے اللہ تعالیٰ کی خوشنودی کی خاطر محبت کرنا بڑا عظیم الشان عمل ہے، جس پر قرآن و احادیث میں بہت اجر و ثواب کے وعدے کیے گئے ہیں، اللہ کے لیے محبت کرنے کے معنی یہ ہیں کہ کسی سے کوئی دنیوی مفاد حاصل کرنا مقصود نہ ہو، بلکہ اس سے اس لیے محبت کی جائے کہ اس کے پاس دین کا علم ہو یا کہ وہ زیادہ دیندار اور متقی و پرہیزگار ہو، یا وہ دین کی خدمت میں مشغول ہو یا اللہ تعالیٰ نے اس سے محبت کا حکم فرمایا ہو، جیسے والدین۔
اللہ تعالیٰ کے نیک بندوں سے محبت کرنا دراصل اللہ تعالیٰ ہی کی محبت کی وجہ سے ہوتا ہے، اس لیے اس پر اللہ تعالیٰ سے محبت کرنے کا اجر و ثواب ملتا ہے، اور اس محبت کی برکت سے اللہ تعالیٰ دنیا میں بھی نیک عمل کی توفیق عطا فرماتے ہیں، اور انشاء اللہ آخرت میں بھی نیک لوگوں کے ساتھ نصیب ہوگا، اس لیے اللہ تعالیٰ کے نیک بندوں کے لیے ہمیشہ اللہ ہی کے لیے محبت کرنی چاہیے، اور اس نیت سے رکھنی چاہیے کہ اس محبت کی برکت سے مجھے بھی نیکی کی توفیق ہو اور اللہ تعالیٰ مجھ سے راضی ہو جائیں۔
اللہ تعالیٰ کے نیک بندوں سے محبت کرنا دراصل اللہ تعالیٰ ہی کی محبت کی وجہ سے ہوتا ہے، اس لیے اس پر اللہ تعالیٰ سے محبت کرنے کا اجر و ثواب ملتا ہے، اور اس محبت کی برکت سے اللہ تعالیٰ دنیا میں بھی نیک عمل کی توفیق عطا فرماتے ہیں، اور انشاء اللہ آخرت میں بھی نیک لوگوں کے ساتھ نصیب ہوگا، اس لیے اللہ تعالیٰ کے نیک بندوں کے لیے ہمیشہ اللہ ہی کے لیے محبت کرنی چاہیے، اور اس نیت سے رکھنی چاہیے کہ اس محبت کی برکت سے مجھے بھی نیکی کی توفیق ہو اور اللہ تعالیٰ مجھ سے راضی ہو جائیں۔
English translation
Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "On the Day of Resurrection Allah, the Exalted, will proclaim: Where are those servants of Mine who loved one another for the sake of My Greatness and Majesty? Today, when there is no shade except My shade, I shall give them a place in My shade."
To love a person for the sake of Allah's pleasure is a most magnificent deed, one for which the Qur'an and the ahadith promise great reward. Loving for the sake of Allah means that no worldly gain is sought from the person; rather he is loved because he possesses religious knowledge, or is more devout and God-fearing, or is engaged in the service of the faith, or because Allah has commanded that he be loved, as in the case of one's parents.
Loving the righteous servants of Allah is in reality a consequence of loving Allah Himself, and so it earns the reward of loving Allah. Through the blessing of this love, Allah grants the ability to do good in this world and, God willing, the company of the righteous in the Hereafter. So one should always love Allah's righteous servants purely for His sake, with the intention that through the blessing of this love one may oneself be granted the ability to do good and that Allah may be pleased with us.
