فضائل اہل بیت
حضرت زید بن ارقم رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ انہوں نے کہا کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ: ''میں تم میں دو چیزیں چھوڑے جا رہا ہوں، میرے بعد جب تک تم انہیں پکڑے رہو گے کبھی گمراہ نہ ہو گے، ایک ان میں دوسری سے عظیم تر ہے، وہ ایک تو اللہ تعالیٰ کی کتاب ہے اور اللہ تعالیٰ کی آسمان سے زمین کی طرف پھیلی ہوئی رسی ہے، اور دوسری میری اولاد، میرے گھر والے ہیں، اور وہ الگ الگ نہ ہوں گے یہاں تک کہ حوضِ کوثر پر وہ میرے پاس آ پہنچیں گے، پس تم لوگ سوچ لو کہ تم میرے بعد ان سے کیا معاملہ کرتے ہو اور کیسے پیش آتے ہو۔'' (ترمذی)
اس حدیثِ مبارکہ میں رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے کتاب اللہ یعنی قرآنِ مجید کی طرف اپنی امت کو توجہ دلائی ہے اور اپنے اہل کے حقوق بھی یاد دلائے ہیں اور اہلِ بیت کی فضیلت و عظمت بیان فرما دی ہے، کہ تم لوگ میری نسبت کے خیال سے ان کے حقوق کی ادائیگی میں جتنے زیادہ سرگرم رہو گے اور ان کی ہر طرح خبر گیری میں جتنا زیادہ حصہ لو گے اتنا ہی تمہارے حق میں بہتر ہوگا اور تمہیں دنیا و آخرت میں خیر و عافیت نصیب ہوگی، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا یہ فرمانا ایسا ہی ہے جیسے کوئی شفیق باپ دمِ رخصت پر اپنی اولاد کے بارے میں وصیت کرتا ہے کہ میں یہ اپنی اولاد چھوڑ کر جا رہا ہوں، تم ان کی خوب دیکھ بھال کرنا اور ان کے حقوق و مفادات کا تحفظ کرنا۔
''اور یہ دونوں الگ الگ نہیں ہوں گی'' یعنی قیامت کے تمام مراحل پر ان دونوں یعنی کتاب اللہ اور اہلِ بیت رسول صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا ساتھ رہے گا، کبھی بھی یہ دونوں ایک دوسرے سے جدا نہیں ہوں گی، یہاں تک کہ یہ دونوں مل کر حوضِ کوثر پر میرے پاس آئیں گی، اور دنیا میں جس جس نے ان دونوں کے حقوق اچھی طرح ادا کیے ہوں گے اس اس کا نام لے کر میرے سامنے شکریہ ادا کریں گی، اور پھر میں بدلہ میں ان سب کے ساتھ نہایت اچھا سلوک اور احسان کروں گا اور اللہ تعالیٰ بھی ان سب کو کامل جزا اور انعام عطا فرمائیں گے، اور جن لوگوں نے دنیا میں ان دونوں کی حق تلفی کی ہوگی اور دونوں کے ساتھ کفرانِ نعمت کیا ہوگا ان کے ساتھ اس کے برعکس معاملہ ہوگا۔
''پس تم سوچ لو'' یعنی میں نے ان دونوں کی حیثیت و اہمیت تمہارے سامنے واضح کر دی ہے، اب تمہیں خود احتساب کرنا ہے کہ ان دونوں یعنی کتاب اللہ اور میرے اہلِ بیت کے تئیں تم کیا معاملہ کرتے ہو۔
رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کی محبت کا ایک تقاضا ہے کہ اہلِ بیت سے محبت ہو، جیسا کہ خود رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم کا فرمان ہے: اللہ کی محبت کی بناء پر مجھ سے محبت کرو اور میری محبت کی بناء پر میرے اہلِ بیت یعنی میرے گھرانے کے افراد سے محبت کرو۔ (بحوالہ ترمذی)
اور اہلِ بیت وہ بھی ہیں کہ جن کے متعلق اللہ تعالیٰ صحیفۂ آخر میں ان کی طہارت و پاکیزگی کا اس طرح اعلان فرماتا ہے: ''اے پیغمبر کے گھر والو! اللہ کو تو بس یہی منظور ہے کہ تم سے ہر طرح کی گندگی کو دور کر دے اور تمہیں ایسا پاک صاف کر دے جیسا کہ پاک صاف کرنے کا حق ہوتا ہے۔'' (الاحزاب ۔ ۳۳)
وہ اہلِ بیت جن کی فضیلت کعبے کا دروازہ تھام کر آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے یوں فرمائی: دیکھو! میرے اہلِ بیت کی مثال تم میں کشتیِ نوح کی سی ہے، جو اس میں سوار ہوا وہ بچ گیا اور جو شخص اس کشتی میں سوار ہونے سے رہ گیا وہ ہلاک ہوا۔ (بحوالہ مسند احمد)
اللہ تعالیٰ ہم سب مسلمانوں کو اس کشتی میں سوار فرما دے جو کہ ہماری فلاح و بقا کا ذریعہ ہے اور ہمیں ہلاکت سے محفوظ فرما دے اور اہلِ بیت کی ہمارے دلوں میں صحیح عقیدت و احترام نصیب فرمائے۔ آمین

اللہ تعالیٰ ہم سب مسلمانوں کو اس کشتی میں سوار فرما دے جو کہ ہماری فلاح و بقا کا ذریعہ ہے اور ہمیں ہلاکت سے محفوظ فرما دے اور اہلِ بیت کی ہمارے دلوں میں صحیح عقیدت و احترام نصیب فرمائے۔ آمین
English translation
It is narrated from Hazrat Zaid bin Arqam (may Allah be pleased with him) that he said the Messenger of Allah ﷺ declared: "I am leaving among you two things; as long as you hold fast to them after me you will never go astray. One of them is greater than the other: one is the Book of Allah, a rope of Allah extended from the heaven toward the earth; and the other is my progeny, my household. They will not part from one another until they both come to me at the Pool of Kawthar. So consider well how you deal with them after me and how you treat them." (Tirmidhi)
In this blessed Hadith the Messenger of Allah ﷺ has drawn his Ummah's attention to the Book of Allah, that is, the Glorious Qur'an, and has also reminded them of the rights of his household, and has stated the excellence and greatness of the Ahl al-Bayt: that the more zealous you are, out of regard for your relationship with me, in fulfilling their rights, and the greater the share you take in looking after them in every way, the better it will be for you, and you will be granted good and well-being in this world and the Hereafter. This saying of the Prophet ﷺ is just like a compassionate father who, at the moment of departure, makes a bequest concerning his children: "I am leaving behind these children of mine; take good care of them and protect their rights and interests."
"And these two will not part from one another" means that through all the stages of the Day of Judgement, these two — the Book of Allah and the household of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ — will remain together; the two will never be separated from each other, until the two together come to me at the Pool of Kawthar. And in the world, whoever fulfilled the rights of these two well, they will name each such person and offer thanks before me, and then in recompense I will treat them all most kindly and with favour, and Allah the Almighty too will grant them all complete reward and bounty; and those who in the world violated the rights of these two and were ungrateful toward them will be dealt with in the opposite manner.
"So consider well" means: I have made clear to you the standing and importance of these two; now you must take yourselves to account as to how you deal with these two — the Book of Allah and my household.
One demand of the love of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is that there be love for the Ahl al-Bayt, as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ himself said: "Love me on account of the love of Allah, and on account of love for me love my household, that is, the members of my family." (Reported by Tirmidhi)
And the Ahl al-Bayt are also those concerning whom Allah the Almighty, in the final Scripture, announces their purity and cleanliness thus: "O people of the Prophet's house! Allah only wills to remove from you every kind of impurity and to purify you thoroughly, as purification ought to be." (Al-Ahzab — 33)
They are the Ahl al-Bayt whose excellence the Prophet ﷺ declared, holding the door of the Ka'bah: "Behold! The likeness of my household among you is that of the Ark of Noah — whoever boarded it was saved, and whoever failed to board that ark perished." (Reported by Musnad Ahmad)
May Allah the Almighty make all of us Muslims board this ark, which is the means of our salvation and survival, and protect us from destruction, and grant our hearts true devotion and respect for the Ahl al-Bayt. Ameen.
