جمعہ کے دن کا خاص وظیفہ درود شریف

It is narrated from Aws bin Aws al-Thaqafi (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Friday is among the most excellent of days. On this (day) Adam (peace be upon him) was created, on this (day) he passed away, on this (day) the Resurrection will take place, and on this (day) the swoon of death and insensibility will come over all creation. So on Friday send abundant blessings (durood) upon me, for your blessings are presented to me and will continue to be presented.” The Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) said: “O Messenger of Allah ﷺ! (After you have passed away), how will our blessings be presented to you when your blessed body will have crumbled to dust in the grave?” He ﷺ said: “Allah has forbidden the earth to consume the bodies of the Prophets” (that is, even after death their bodies remain completely intact in the graves, and the earth cannot bring about any change in them). From this blessed hadith we come to know the special importance and virtue of Friday, and at the same time we learn the importance and virtue of durood sharif and its special connection with Friday — just as Ramadan has its connection with the Qur'an, and Hajj with the talbiyah. Therefore, on the blessed day of Friday one should recite it abundantly in particular.
