جہاد کی خواہش
حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے فرمایا: ”جو شخص اس حال میں مرا کہ نہ تو اس نے (اللہ کی راہ میں) کبھی جہاد کیا، اور نہ اس کے دل میں اس کی خواہش ہی پیدا ہوئی تو اس کی موت ایک طرح کے نفاق پر ہوئی“۔ (مسلم)
جہاد امت مسلمہ کی عزت و حرمت کا محافظ ہے اور مسلمانوں کی عظمت اور سربلندی کی ضمانت ہے، اللہ تعالیٰ کے راستے میں شہید ہونا انسان کے لیے عظیم ترین سعادت ہے، جس طرح شہادت کا بے حساب اجر و ثواب ہے، اسی طرح اس کی تمنا کرنے پر بھی اللہ تعالیٰ نے بڑا اجر و ثواب رکھا ہے، اس کے مقابلے میں جس نے کبھی اس کی تمنا بھی نہ کی اس حدیث مبارک میں اس کو منافق کی صفات میں سے بتایا گیا ہے۔
English translation
It is narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “Whoever dies in a state in which he never fought (in the way of Allah), nor did the desire for it ever arise in his heart, dies upon a kind of hypocrisy.” (Muslim)
Jihad is the guardian of the honour and sanctity of the Muslim ummah and the guarantee of the Muslims' greatness and dignity. To be martyred in the way of Allah is the greatest good fortune for a person; just as martyrdom carries an incalculable reward, in the same way Allah has placed a great reward upon even longing for it. In contrast, one who never even longed for it has, in this blessed hadith, been described as having one of the traits of a hypocrite.
