ہدیہ لینا دینا

‘A’ishah (may Allah be pleased with her) reported from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said: “Give gifts to one another, for gifts remove rancour from hearts.”

A gift is a present given to gladden another’s heart, and through it the pleasure of Allah is sought. It creates love and affection in hearts and pleasantness in relationships — which in this world is a great blessing and a means of protection from many afflictions and of attaining peace of mind. If a gift is given with sincerity, its reward is no less than that of charity; indeed, at times it is even greater. It is natural that giving gifts removes mutual resentment and grudges, joins hearts together, and brings pleasantness into relationships.
Here it is important to know that a gift need not be valuable; even if something modest is given, it should be accepted with joy.
