جامع ترین دعا

Narrated Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ made many supplications which we could not remember, so we said to him, 'O Messenger of Allah, you made many supplications which we could not memorise (and we wish to ask Allah with all of them; what should we do?).' The Prophet ﷺ said: “I will tell you a supplication that includes all of them (say this before Allah): 'O Allah, I ask You for all the good that Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asked You for, and I seek refuge in You from all the evil from which Your Prophet Muhammad ﷺ sought refuge with You. You alone are the One whose help is sought, and upon You rests the attainment of every goal; there is no power to do good nor any strength to abstain from evil except with the help of Allah.'” (Tirmidhi)

In the Qur'an and Hadith the best supplications have been taught for every purpose of religion and worldly life, so that a person may make them from time to time and thereby work for his own betterment and success. By reciting these supplications abundantly a person traverses stages of spiritual progress that cannot be attained even through great struggles and exertions. But few people in the world can memorise so many supplications from the Qur'an and Hadith; for them this blessed hadith has shown a very easy way, so we too should include this supplication in every one of our prayers.

The supplications of our Prophet ﷺ are so comprehensive that no person could ask for such things, nor ask in such a manner, as our beloved Prophet ﷺ asked. Therefore, making a regular practice of the supplications he taught brings a twofold reward: one for making the supplication, and another for following the Sunnah.
