جنت و دوزخ
حضرت انس رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ ﷺ نے ارشاد فرمایا کہ: ”قیامت کے دن دوزخ میں رہنے والوں میں سے (یعنی ان لوگوں میں سے جو اپنے کفر و شرک کی وجہ سے یا اپنے فسق و فجور کی وجہ سے دوزخ میں جانے والے ہوں گے) ایک ایسے آدمی کو لایا جائے گا جس نے اپنی دنیا کی زندگی نہایت عیش و آرام کے ساتھ گذاری ہوگی، اور پھر اس کو دوزخ کی آگ میں ایک غوطہ دلایا جائے گا (یعنی صرف ایک لمحے کے لیے دوزخ کی آگ میں ڈال کر فوراً نکال لیا جائے گا)، پھر اس سے پوچھا جائے گا کہ، اے آدم کے بیٹے! کیا تو نے کبھی خیریت اور اچھی حالت بھی دیکھی ہے، اور کیا کبھی عیش و آرام کا دور تجھ پر گذرا ہے؟ وہ کہے گا کبھی نہیں! قسم خدا کی اے پروردگار! اور ایک شخص جنت میں رہنے والوں میں سے (یعنی ان نیک بندوں میں سے جو اپنی ایمان والی زندگی کی وجہ سے جنت کے حقدار ہوں گے) لایا جائے گا جس کی زندگی دنیا میں سب سے زیادہ تکلیف اور دکھ میں گذری ہوگی، اور پھر اس کو ایک غوطہ جنت میں دیا جائے گا (یعنی صرف ایک لمحے کے لیے جنت کی فضاؤں میں لے جا کر فوراً نکال لیا جائے گا)، اور اس سے کہا جائے گا کہ، اے آدم کے بیٹے! کیا تو نے کبھی کوئی دکھ دیکھا ہے، اور کیا تجھ پر کوئی تکلیف اور درد کا دور گذرا ہے؟ وہ کہے گا کبھی نہیں! قسم خدا کی اے پروردگار! مجھ پر کوئی تکلیف نہیں گذری، اور میں نے کبھی کسی تکلیف کا منہ نہیں دیکھا“۔ (مسلم)
دراصل جنت میں اعلیٰ درجے کی وہ لذتیں و راحتیں ہیں کہ دنیا کی بڑی سے بڑی لذتوں اور راحتوں کا ان سے کوئی مقابلہ نہیں، اور اسی طرح دوزخ میں ایسی تکلیفیں اور دکھ ہیں کہ دنیا کے بڑے سے بڑے دکھوں اور بڑی سے بڑی تکلیفوں کو ان سے کوئی نسبت نہیں، اس حدیث مبارکہ میں بھی ہمیں یہی تعلیم دی گئی ہے کہ، دوزخ کا عذاب اتنا سخت اور تکلیف دہ ہوگا کہ اس کا ایک لمحہ عمر بھر کے عیش و آرام کو بھلا دے گا، اور جنت میں ایسا عیش و آرام میسر ہوگا کہ اس میں قدم رکھتے ہی آدمی عمر بھر کے سارے دکھ درد کو بھول جائے گا۔
بھائیو! یہ زندگی تو فانی اور چند روزہ ہے جب کہ آخرت کی زندگی ابدی اور لا فانی ہے، ہم سب کو ایک نہ ایک دن مرنا ہے اور پھر اس کے بعد مستقل ٹھکانہ جنت ہے یا دوزخ ہے، لہٰذا اب بھی وقت ہے کہ ہم پچھلے گناہوں سے توبہ کر کے اور آئندہ اپنے اعمال کو درست کر کے دوزخ سے بچنے اور جنت کو حاصل کرنے کی فکر اور کوشش کریں، اے اللہ! تو ہم سب ایمان والوں کو دوزخ کے ہر چھوٹے اور بڑے عذاب سے اپنی پناہ میں رکھ (آمین)۔
بھائیو! یہ زندگی تو فانی اور چند روزہ ہے جب کہ آخرت کی زندگی ابدی اور لا فانی ہے، ہم سب کو ایک نہ ایک دن مرنا ہے اور پھر اس کے بعد مستقل ٹھکانہ جنت ہے یا دوزخ ہے، لہٰذا اب بھی وقت ہے کہ ہم پچھلے گناہوں سے توبہ کر کے اور آئندہ اپنے اعمال کو درست کر کے دوزخ سے بچنے اور جنت کو حاصل کرنے کی فکر اور کوشش کریں، اے اللہ! تو ہم سب ایمان والوں کو دوزخ کے ہر چھوٹے اور بڑے عذاب سے اپنی پناہ میں رکھ (آمین)۔
English translation
Narrated Anas (may Allah be pleased with him): The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: “On the Day of Resurrection a man from among the people of the Fire — (that is, from among those who will enter the Fire because of their disbelief and polytheism, or because of their sinfulness and immorality) — who had lived the most luxurious and comfortable life in this world, will be brought and dipped once into the Fire of Hell (that is, put into the Fire for only a moment and then immediately taken out). Then he will be asked, 'O son of Adam, have you ever seen any well-being or any good state? Has any time of comfort and ease ever passed over you?' He will say, 'No, never! By God, O my Lord!' And a man from among the people of Paradise — (that is, from among the righteous servants who will deserve Paradise because of their life of faith) — who had lived the most painful and sorrowful life in this world, will be brought and dipped once into Paradise (taken for only a moment into the air of Paradise and then immediately brought out). He will be asked, 'O son of Adam, have you ever seen any sorrow? Has any hardship or pain ever passed over you?' He will say, 'No, never! By God, O my Lord! No hardship ever came upon me, and I have never even seen the face of any hardship.'” (Muslim)
The delights and comforts of Paradise are of so high a degree that the greatest pleasures and comforts of this world bear no comparison to them; likewise the hardships and sorrows of Hell are such that the greatest griefs and severest pains of this world bear no relation to them. This blessed hadith teaches us the same lesson: the punishment of Hell will be so severe and painful that a single moment of it will make one forget a whole lifetime of ease and comfort, while the ease and comfort of Paradise will be such that the moment one sets foot in it one will forget the sorrows and pains of a whole lifetime.
O brothers! This life is transient and lasts but a few days, whereas the life of the Hereafter is everlasting and eternal. Every one of us must die one day, and after that our permanent abode is either Paradise or Hell. So there is still time for us to repent of our past sins and correct our future deeds, and to strive and take care to save ourselves from Hell and attain Paradise. O Allah! Keep all of us believers in Your protection from every punishment of Hell, small and great. (Ameen)
