نیکی کو حقیر نہ سمجھنا
حضرت ابو ذر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے ارشاد فرمایا: "نیکی کے کسی کام کو حقیر نہ سمجھو، اگر چہ تم اپنے (مسلمان) بھائی سے کھلے ہوئے چہرے (مسکراہٹ) کے ساتھ ملو (یعنی مسکراتے ہوئے ملنا بھی نیکی ہے)"۔ (مسلم)
اسلام نے آخرت کو بہتر بنانے کے لیے جو طریقے بتائے ہیں، درحقیقت وہ کچھ مشکل نہیں ہیں، بلکہ اگر انسان ان طریقوں کو اپنائے تو آخرت کے ساتھ ساتھ اس کی دنیا بھی پرسکون ہو جاتی ہے۔
اس حدیث سے ہمیں معلوم ہوتا ہے کہ کسی کے ساتھ خوش اخلاقی اور خندہ پیشانی سے پیش آنا بھی نیکی ہے، اور ساتھ ہی یہ بھی ارشاد فرمایا کہ اس نیکی کو معمولی اور حقیر نیکی نہ جانو، یعنی اس عمل سے بھی تمہارے نامہ اعمال میں بڑے ثواب کا اضافہ ہو سکتا ہے، کیونکہ ایک تو یہ انسان کے حسن اخلاق کی دلیل ہے، دوسرے اس سے مسلمانوں کے درمیان محبت و الفت پیدا ہوتی ہے، جو مطلوب و محبوب عمل ہے۔
نامہ اعمال میں نیکیوں کے اضافے کی صحیح قدر و قیمت آج ہمیں معلوم نہیں ہوتی ہے، لیکن جس دن یہ آنکھیں بند ہوں گی، اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے حضور حاضری ہوگی، اور حساب و کتاب شروع ہوگا، اس دن پتہ چلے گا کہ ایک چھوٹی سے چھوٹی نیکی کی کیا قدر و قیمت ہے؟ وہاں کی کرنسی روپے پیسے نہیں ہیں، وہاں سونا چاندی کام آنے والا نہیں ہے، وہاں کی کرنسی تو یہی نیکیاں ہوں گی اور یہی سوال ہوگا کہ اپنے ساتھ کتنی نیکیاں لے کر آئے ہو؟ اس وقت اگر دامن خالی ہوگا تو نا قابل برداشت حسرت ہوگی کہ ہم نے دنیا میں رہتے ہوئے اپنے نامہ اعمال میں اضافہ کیوں نہ کیا؟ لیکن اس وقت عمل کا وقت ختم ہو چکا ہوگا، اس لیے یہ حسرت کچھ کام نہ آئے گی۔
اب بھی وقت ہے کہ ہم اپنے ضمیر کو جگائیں اور ہر وہ نیک کام جو بظاہر معمولی ہی کیوں نہ لگے اس کو اپنائیں، کیا بعید یہی بظاہر چھوٹے چھوٹے اعمال آخرت میں ہماری نجات کا باعث بن جائیں، اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے فضل و کرم سے ہم سب مسلمانوں کو اس پر عمل کی توفیق مرحمت فرمائیں (آمین)۔

نامہ اعمال میں نیکیوں کے اضافے کی صحیح قدر و قیمت آج ہمیں معلوم نہیں ہوتی ہے، لیکن جس دن یہ آنکھیں بند ہوں گی، اور اللہ تعالیٰ کے حضور حاضری ہوگی، اور حساب و کتاب شروع ہوگا، اس دن پتہ چلے گا کہ ایک چھوٹی سے چھوٹی نیکی کی کیا قدر و قیمت ہے؟ وہاں کی کرنسی روپے پیسے نہیں ہیں، وہاں سونا چاندی کام آنے والا نہیں ہے، وہاں کی کرنسی تو یہی نیکیاں ہوں گی اور یہی سوال ہوگا کہ اپنے ساتھ کتنی نیکیاں لے کر آئے ہو؟ اس وقت اگر دامن خالی ہوگا تو نا قابل برداشت حسرت ہوگی کہ ہم نے دنیا میں رہتے ہوئے اپنے نامہ اعمال میں اضافہ کیوں نہ کیا؟ لیکن اس وقت عمل کا وقت ختم ہو چکا ہوگا، اس لیے یہ حسرت کچھ کام نہ آئے گی۔
اب بھی وقت ہے کہ ہم اپنے ضمیر کو جگائیں اور ہر وہ نیک کام جو بظاہر معمولی ہی کیوں نہ لگے اس کو اپنائیں، کیا بعید یہی بظاہر چھوٹے چھوٹے اعمال آخرت میں ہماری نجات کا باعث بن جائیں، اللہ تعالیٰ اپنے فضل و کرم سے ہم سب مسلمانوں کو اس پر عمل کی توفیق مرحمت فرمائیں (آمین)۔
English translation
Abu Dharr (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "Do not regard any act of goodness as insignificant, even if it is only that you meet your (Muslim) brother with a cheerful face (a smile) — that is, to meet him smiling is also a good deed."
The ways Islam has taught for bettering the Hereafter are in truth not difficult at all; rather, if a person adopts them, his worldly life too becomes tranquil alongside his Hereafter. This hadith teaches us that to meet someone with good cheer and a smiling face is itself a good deed, and the Prophet ﷺ also instructed us not to consider this good deed as small or trivial — for through even this act great reward can be added to your record of deeds, since on the one hand it is a proof of a person's good character, and on the other it creates love and affection among Muslims, which is a desired and beloved deed.
Today we do not truly appreciate the value of adding good deeds to our record; but on the day these eyes close, when we stand before Allah and the reckoning begins, we will realise the worth of even the smallest good deed. The currency there is not rupees and coins, nor will gold and silver avail; the only currency there will be these very good deeds, and the question will be how many good deeds you have brought with you. If our hands are empty at that time, it will be an unbearable regret that we did not add to our record while we lived in this world — but by then the time for deeds will be over, so that regret will avail nothing.
There is still time for us to awaken our conscience and take up every good deed, however ordinary it may seem; it is not far-fetched that these seemingly small deeds may become the means of our salvation in the Hereafter. May Allah, by His grace and bounty, grant us all the ability to act upon this (Ameen).
