شیطان کا میاں بیوی کے درمیان تفرقہ ڈالنا

Jabir (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ص said: “Iblis places his throne upon the water (that is, the sea), then dispatches his troops from there to plunge people into temptation and misguidance. The most favoured of his troops is the one who causes the greatest discord. One of them comes back and says, ‘I have created such-and-such mischief,’ and Iblis replies, ‘You have done nothing.’ Then another comes and says, ‘I began to lead a certain man astray and did not leave him until I had caused separation between him and his wife.’ The Messenger of Allah ص said: On hearing this Iblis draws him near — or he said, embraces him — and says, ‘How well you have done!’”

There is no one in the world unfamiliar with the name of Satan; from the youngest child to the oldest person, all know him. As soon as a child gains a little sense and his name reaches the child’s ears, he learns it. Satan has attained a fame that even the angels nearest to Allah do not possess: if an ignorant person were asked about Israfil, Azrail or Mika’il he would confess his ignorance, yet if that same person were asked about Satan he would recite “La hawla” the moment he heard the name. But as much as the common people know his name, so much are they unaware of his notable deeds and devices; from child to old man they are heedless of his machinations, and even those who know him fall prey to him from time to time, and still do not take heed.

In the Noble Qur’an and the blessed hadiths, Allah and His Messenger ص have described in the fullest detail all of Satan’s guile and deception, from his creation until the Day of Judgement, enjoining mankind to guard against his ruinous works and deceit. So it is incumbent upon every sensible person to guard at all times against an enemy whose enmity toward man has been plain since the time of Adam (peace be upon him) — an enemy who has devoted his whole life to this one task: that he will, in every circumstance, expend his full effort in the ruin of the children of Adam. Although Allah has not given man the power to see the devils, He has in exchange given him awareness, and has enjoined him to keep away from this enemy. Allah, glorified be He, says:

“O you who believe, do not follow the footsteps of Satan; and whoever follows the footsteps of Satan will fall into immorality and evil deeds, for Satan indeed enjoins immorality and evil.” (an-Nur: 21)

In this noble hadith the Messenger of Allah ص described Satan’s greatest guile and most favoured act — the one that pleases him most — namely causing separation between husband and wife. The scholars have described various forms of this separation. One is that a man, deceived by Satan, divorces his wife and casts her off. A form more dreadful than this is that, through quarrelling, Satan causes a man to utter words unwittingly that divorce his wife, yet out of ignorance the man goes on regarding the woman as within his marriage and maintains relations with her — which is in reality unlawful — and through the unlawful relations of such people illegitimate offspring keep being born, so that their number on earth increases, and those illegitimately born spread immorality, transgression, sin and disobedience ever more widely in the world.

O Allah, save us all from Satan’s guile and deception, restrain us from the mischief of the lower self, and grant us to follow the Messenger of Allah ص. Amin!
