نماز جمعہ چھوڑنے کا وبال
حضرت عبداللہ بن عمر رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ اور حضرت ابو ہریرہ رضی اللہ تعالیٰ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ ہم نے خود رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم سے سنا، آپ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم منبر پر ارشاد فرما رہے تھے کہ: ”جمعہ چھوڑنے والے لوگ اپنی اس حرکت سے باز آ جائیں یا یہ ہوگا کہ ان کے اس گناہ کی سزا اللہ تعالیٰ ان کے دلوں پر مہر لگا دے گا، پھر وہ غافلوں میں سے ہو جائیں گے (اور اصلاح کی توفیق سے محروم ہو جائیں گے)“۔ (مسلم)
اللہ اور رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم پر ایمان لانے اور توحید و رسالت کی گواہی دینے کے بعد سب سے پہلا اور سب سے بڑا فرض نماز ہے، دن رات میں پانچ نمازیں فرض ہیں، اس کے علاوہ چند نمازیں جو صرف اجتماعی طور پر ادا کی جاتی ہیں، ان میں سے ایک نماز جمعہ ہے، نماز جمعہ فرض عین ہے، نماز جمعہ کے بارے میں ارشاد باری تعالیٰ ہے:
”اے ایمان والو! جب نماز جمعہ کے لیے اذان دی جائے تو تم لوگ اللہ تعالیٰ کے ذکر کی طرف دوڑو اور خرید و فروخت چھوڑ دو، یہ تمہارے حق میں بہت ہی بہتر ہے اگر تم جانو“۔ (الجمعہ ۔ ۹)
اس حدیث میں دو باتوں کی طرف سرکار دو عالم صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم نے نشان دہی کی ہے، یا تو نماز جمعہ کو چھوڑنا یا دلوں پر مہر لگ جانا، یعنی اگر لوگ نماز جمعہ چھوڑیں گے تو ان کے دلوں پر مہر لگے گی، اور اگر نماز جمعہ چھوڑ دیں گے تو ان کے دلوں پر مہر لگا دی جائے گی، ”دلوں پر مہر لگانا“ اس بات کی طرف اشارہ کرتا ہے کہ اللہ تعالیٰ ان کے دلوں کو ان کی انتہائی غفلت کی وجہ سے بدبخت لوگوں کے دلوں کے مثل کردے گا اور انہیں نصیحت اور بھلائی قبول کرنے سے باز رکھے گا، جس کے نتیجے میں ایسے لوگ اللہ تعالیٰ کے سخت عذاب میں مبتلا کیے جائیں گے۔
اگر ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے عذاب سے محفوظ رہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ ہم سب کو بخش دے تو ہم سب کو چاہیے کہ بلا عذر شرعی نماز جمعہ کو نہ چھوڑیں۔
”اے ایمان والو! جب نماز جمعہ کے لیے اذان دی جائے تو تم لوگ اللہ تعالیٰ کے ذکر کی طرف دوڑو اور خرید و فروخت چھوڑ دو، یہ تمہارے حق میں بہت ہی بہتر ہے اگر تم جانو“۔ (الجمعہ ۔ ۹)

اگر ہم چاہتے ہیں کہ اللہ تعالیٰ کے عذاب سے محفوظ رہیں اور اللہ تعالیٰ ہم سب کو بخش دے تو ہم سب کو چاہیے کہ بلا عذر شرعی نماز جمعہ کو نہ چھوڑیں۔
English translation
It is narrated from Abdullah ibn Umar and Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with them) that we ourselves heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, as he ﷺ was addressing (us) from the pulpit: "Let those people who abandon the Friday prayer desist from this act of theirs, or else it will be that, as a punishment for this sin, Allah will set a seal upon their hearts, and then they will become among the heedless (and be deprived of the ability to reform)."

After believing in Allah and His Messenger ﷺ and bearing witness to the Oneness (of Allah) and the messengership, the first and greatest obligation is prayer (salah). Five prayers are obligatory in the day and night. Besides these there are some prayers that are performed only in congregation, one of which is the Friday prayer; the Friday prayer is an individual obligation (fard 'ayn). Concerning the Friday prayer Allah says: "O you who believe! When the call is made for the prayer on Friday, hasten to the remembrance of Allah and leave off trade; that is better for you, if you but knew." (Al-Jumu'ah — 9)
In this hadith the Master of both worlds ﷺ pointed to two things: either abandoning the Friday prayer, or the sealing of hearts — that is, if people abandon the Friday prayer, a seal will be set upon their hearts, and if they abandon the Friday prayer, a seal will be set upon their hearts. "Setting a seal upon the hearts" points to the fact that, on account of their utter heedlessness, Allah will make their hearts like the hearts of the wretched, and will hold them back from accepting admonition and good, as a result of which such people will be made to suffer Allah's severe punishment.
If we wish to be safe from the punishment of Allah, and that Allah forgive us all, then we should all take care not to abandon the Friday prayer without a valid religious excuse.
